Adult Individual Therapy
Starting individual therapy can be both empowering and frightening. Because of this, I let you, the client, set the pace for the first few sessions while I gather information. My approach is solution focused and proactive. I will work as a team with you to gain insight, confront the problem to create change and to develop skills, which will lead to confident decision-making and lasting solutions.
I work with individuals suffering from depression and low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, parenting, separation and divorce, career problems and changes, addictions, trauma and abuse, grief issues, and many more.
-Do you fight and make up regularly?
-Does your partner put you down or ridicule you?
-Is your partner never home or "tuned out" when he or she is?
-Are you relieved when your partner is not around?
-Are you uneasy when your partner is away?
-Is your sex life gone?
-Is your partner using drugs or alcohol and it's a problem in your relationship?
-Are you feeling lonely?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then couples therapy may be appropriate for you.
Couple Therapy Process
I often hear couples that are in despair. Their communication has broke down, and the trust has eroded. Couples come into therapy for a variety of issues including communication and conflict resolution, sexual and intimacy issues, anger management, parenting, infidelity, finances, addiction, step-families, infertility/adoption, and many more.
-Working as a team I will guide you to:
-Identify negative patterns that are getting in your way of having a positive relationship and friendship.
-Learn how to stop the blame game so you can work through problems without the power struggles.
-Reconnect to the love and passion that is missing in your relationship.
-Find better ways to communicate and relate to each other so you both feel respected and heard.
-Take responsibility for your life and your own well being.
-Learn to set personal boundaries
